A hand-knotted Persian Tabriz area rug. This hand-knotted wool rug features a color scheme of rich red, navy blue rose,goldenrod, forest green, and cream. It has a large navy blue and pink medallion on a red field patterned with alternating palmettes and flower branches in golden yellows, pinks and greens. The navy colored spandrels have scalloped edges with cream colored medallions at the corners. The main border features Shah Abbasi palemttes and boteh on a crimson field. It is has natural warp fringe to either end and it is marked ‘made in Iran’ to the reverse.
