An antique American rococo revival mahogany parlour chair. This carved mahogany parlor chair is upholstered in a peach fabric with the back tightly button tufted and the interior sides of the chair pleated. The curvaceous mahogany frame encloses the upholstery and at the crest is carved a group of roses of varying types. The entire chair rests upon a moulded skirt which bows in the front and rounds on the sides and back, in the front are two moulded cabriole legs and in the rear two curved square legs. Unmarked.
The shaped back is button tufted. There is a floral carved pediment on the back. Front legs are cabriole with spade feet and wide carved grooves. Back legs are slightly flared.
Condition
Some scratches on wood and upholstery has a few stains. Fabric under seat is slightly loose.
