A vintage cast iron basket fireplace grate from S. M. Howes. The item features three openwork sides with the back side solid decorative plate. The bottom segment can be tilted upwards. This item is marked to the backing ‘The S M Howes – 100’. Howes was a Boston company that manufactured stoves and fireplace related ironwork until 1930.
