A hand-knotted Indo-Caucasian carpet runner. This wool rug, likely made in India, is hand-knotted in an abrashed palette of cranberry, sapphire, pink, and gray. It features a vertical row of hexagonal medallions over a cranberry field, each medallion enclosing quatrefoil diamonds and ashik inner medallions. The field is framed by lateral borders grounded in artfully abrashed gray and blue and filled with repeating flowerheads and a pair of geometric bowtie shapes. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with cotton warp fringe in gray, pink, and black. Unlabeled.
