Wooden Tray with Retriever Cross-Stitch Pattern and Framed Needlepoint Textile

A set of two needlepoint textiles. Featured is a handled wooden serving tray with a cross-stitch design to the center depicting three different retriever dog breeds sitting among tall grass against a white background. Also included is a 1983 chinoiserie needlepoint work by Gertrude Anderson depicting an assortment of overlapping imagery that includes colorful bird, floral, landscape and geometric motifs. It is matted in tan linen with a circular opening and presented without glass in a black wooden frame. The frame verso is fitted with hanging wire and includes the artist’s name and date written to the backing paper.
Condition
- dirt and debris to rounded needlepoint with no protective glass present; slight fading and toning to textiles and matting; minor surface wear and abrasions to frame and tray.
