Hand-Stitched Embroidery Pieces Including one of the White House Front Lawn

A selection of three hand-embroidered pieces. The first pieces is stitched in shades of blue and white on a blue ground, and depicts the front lawn of the White House, upon which a dog plays and a couple walks. The couple appears to be Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln. The second piece is a cross-stitch with two lines of girls holding hands, one in rain and one in sunshine, with the caption ‘The most wasted day of all is that on which you have not laughed’ between them. The final piece is an embroidered chart of herbs and corresponding animals. Each animal is depicted in the center with a colored dot below them. In the outer border, different herbs and spices are depicted with the names stitched below and colored dots matching some or all of the animals. All three pieces are unsigned and presented behind glass in frames that are wired for hanging.

Condition

- wear to frames; one image has a nail behind the glass at the middle top; small stains and snags to fabrics.
