A gouache painting on paper of a wooded scene signed by artist White. This Impressionist painting depicts a calm steam to the foreground, which overlooks a plot of land overtaken by tall grass and barren trees. This obscures wooded barns, lodges and silos to the distance. The composition is rendered with loose pigment reinforced by frenetic brush strokes. To the lower left corner of the composition is an artist signature, which is dated 1957. The painting is presented under glass beneath layered matting in a stained and black wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.

- glass could be cleaned more thoroughly; worn frame finish; scratches to frame; wrinkling to tape affixed to verso.
