This Impressionist painting depicts a pair of the aforementioned birds nestled beneath two tree trunks, which are surrounded by wavy grass and leaves. The composition is rendered with pools of earthen pigment. To the lower right corner of the composition is a copyright symbol and artist signature. The painting is presented under glass beneath matting in a gold tone and stained wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.
