An early to mid 20th-century cast copper alloy figure made by P. Mori and Sons of New York after Mantarani’s Dante Sitting. The piece depicts Italian poet Dante Alighieri deep in contemplation while seated on a bench. The work includes painted red and blue accents to the figure’s robes and clothing. It is marked ‘MORI’ in mold to the verso.

- surface wear, scuffing and areas of paint loss throughout; scratches to shoulders and arms; tarnish marks to verso.
