Chinese Cinnabar Boxes and Red Lacquerware Dish

Item Details

A selection of Chinese cinnabar and cinnabar-style boxes and a red lacquerware dish. There are three round trinket boxes and two figural bird boxes, all with removable lids. Most have a black lacquer interior finish, with one having turquoise, and some gold-toned painted details. The dish features a peacock motif, in profile, with its plumes swirling and surrounding its head.

- carving on base of one trinket box is somewhat flatter than top; minor markings throughout
