19th Century Italian Marquetry Inlaid Cabinet with Castle Scene

An Italian Empire antique marquetry inlaid cabinet with extraordinary, scenic panels and adornments. The wood inlaid front and side panels depict a castle and surrounding architectural elements, in detail. Decorative trim offers butterflies, leaves, ribbon and flowers along with gilded columns on the front corners. The three drawers at the front feature hand cut dovetail construction. The side doors feature a hidden mechanism to open. Doors open to reveal a shallow storage space with two shelves and a small drawer. Stands on tapered wooden legs with long, carved leaves and beading.
