A vintage handmade fabric children’s book and assorted antique books. This book features white fabric pages with painted illustrations including an anthropomorphic bear, in a red gingham-print cloth-covered cover with an appliqué dog to the front; an inscription on the last page of the book reads ‘To Billy— / On his second birthday / April 18, 1931 / From Mother.’ This collection also includes Manual of Geography: A Treatise on Mathematical, Physical and Political Geography by M. F. Maury (New York: University Publishing Company, 1891); Around the World with a Camera (New York: Leslie-Judge Company, 1910); Picture Books for Little Children, No. 21 (London: The Religious Tract Society, n.d.); volume II of Cincinnati, The Queen City, 1788–1912 by Charles Frederic Goss (Cincinnati: The S. J. Clarke Publishing Company, 1912); and an early standalone edition of The Perfect Tribute, Mary Raymond Shipman Andrews’s well-known short story about Abraham Lincoln (New York: Charles Scribner’s Sons, 1907).
