An etching on paper of a seated man by an artist signing the work Edith Kramer. This etching features a sidewalk scene and depicts a man dressed in a checked shirt and brimmed hat, sitting alone on a stoop as a part of the ‘black subject matter’ art therapy movement. It is signed and dated ‘59’ by hand in graphite to the lower right corner. It is inscribed with the number ‘7’ by hand in graphite to the lower left. This work is matted in white and presented unframed and without hanging hardware.

Condition

- wear consistent with age and use; toning and smudges to mat; wear to the inner and outer edges of mat; tape adhered to the verso.
