An ancient Persian (Northwestern Iran; Luristan or Marlik) bronze flanged dagger with crescent guard, ca. 10th–9th century BC. This cast bronze dagger features a flanged hilt with splayed shell-form pommel and inward turned shoulders. The guard bears a penannular crescent form enclosing a midrib that runs the length of the blade.
