A hand-knotted kilim. This Turkish-style wool rug, likely made in India, is rendered in a palette of cranberry, taupe, cornsilk, and gray. It features an open lattice design incorporating polygonal quatrefoil medallions amid a variety of motifs derived from central Asian tribal rugs. The field is grounded in cranberry and framed by three geometric borders. Selvedges are single overcast, the rug finishing at each end with tan and white mottled cotton warp fringe. Unlabeled.
