An Indo-Persian area rug. This wool rug is finely hand knotted in a palette of cranberry, midnight blue, azure, and cream. It features an allover herati field incorporating crisply rendered palmettes, flowers, leaves, and swirling vines over cranberry. The field is framed by compound borders, including an arabesqued herati main border grounded in midnight blue, minimal herati minor borders over azure, and meandering floral minor borders over cream. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at top and bottom with long ivory warp fringe. Unlabeled.
