Chinese Silk Embroidery
Item Details
A Chinese machine embroidery on silk. This piece depicts a scene from mythology with figures in traditional dress at a mountainside garden, welcoming a group of figures that approaches on a mist carrying vases and adorned in plants, with one figure riding on the back of a large bird-like animal. There is text stitched in the upper right corner and a border of reticulated medallions around the edges. The piece is finished with a binding of silk bias tape and mounted behind glass in a black and gold tone wood frame with a faux bamboo sculpting and wire to the verso for hanging.

- light wrinkling of fabric; light wear to frame finish.
