A hand-embroidered crewel wool area rug. The design has been hand-stitched using wool yarn in shades of corn silk, white, mustard, marigold, buff, espresso, olive, sage, and leaf green. The symmetrical design incorporates boteh motifs, arabesques, lanceolate, leaves, modified palmettes, and flowers. The rug is backed with off-white woven fabric and is not marked.
