Two Ornate Openwork Brass Frames

Item Details

A pair of ornate cast brass picture frames in an openwork scrolled leaf design with wire loops for hanging or easel backs to stand. One frame has a late 19th century family photograph showing a woman with four children and their toys. The verso of the photograph has notes which read ‘Margaret Oldham Doty. Wife of John Doty (Tom’s maternal grandparents) p9 631, mid-page. Holding Mary Doty, w/ Will on her left; John on the bike and Eagle seated on the box’. The portrait of the man in the second frame has an inscription to the verso which says the portrait is John Doty.

Condition

The family photograph has a tear through the center. The portrait has a small area to the print.
