Hand-Knotted Persian Hamadan Carpet Runner

Item Details

A hand-knotted Persian Hamadan carpet runner. This wool rug features an end-to-end lattice of diamonds and rondelles over camel. The spandrels are grounded in red, each featuring a flag in tan, white, and rose, along with a serrated diamond medallion enclosing concentric, hexagonal bands of color. Framing the field are three borders, including a main border featuring a meandering oak leaf-and-flowerhead pattern over midnight blue. The main border is flanked on each side by running water minor borders, over crimson or cream. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with applied fringe. It is unlabeled.
