A vintage hand-knotted Persian Karaja Heriz carpet runner. This runner displays five central gul medallions highlighted by pictorial animal forms on crenelated panels. The rug is executed in a palette of cream, blue, orange and burgundy hues over a burgundy field. The field has several gul and animal forms extending to a Kufesque major border and a floral patterned minor border. The rug is finished with navy selvedge and short natural warp fringe. Unmarked.
