Model 1860 Staff & Field Officer's Sword
Item Details
A United States model 1860 staff & field officer’s sword and scabbard. The sword features a brass hilt with shagreen grip wrapped in braided wire, Federal Eagle design to pommel, and ornate clamshell-style guard. The blade bears etched patriotic flourishes. It is marked by manufacturer ‘B.M. Whitlock, New York’ to one side of the ricasso and ‘U.S.’ on the reverse. The sword is accompanied by a scabbard with three suspension rings.
