A watercolor and pastel illustration of a portrait. This work on paper depicts a man posed in front portraiture, who stares forward with a slight smirk on his face against a gradated background. The figure is rendered with a slight layering of pastel, which fades into gestural linework that depicts a turban and ruffled shirt. To the lower right corner of the composition is an illegible artist signature, which is dated 1996. The illustration is presented under matting in a stained red wooden frame with a triangular bracket and note of provenance to the verso.

Condition

- nicks, scuff marks and stains to upper portion of illustration; tan mat has nicks and stains; wood frame showing nicks and scratches.
