A hand-knotted vintage Persian sarouk area rug. The rug features a central medallion in a palette of cream, dark blue, and pink that sits on a dark red field. The field is populated by floral patterns and vines with embellished spandrels in a complementary palette with floral blossoms throughout. The field is enclosed by a compound border that features a matching floral pattern with large blossoms and lancet leaves on a dark blue background. The piece has an overcast edge and a short fringe to either end. Unmarked.
