Hand-Knotted Indo-Persian Bakhshayesh Wool Runner Rug

Item Details

A hand-knotted Indo-Persian Bakhshayesh wool runner. The runner features a series of three medallions worked in shades of Delft blue, ivory, dusty rose, sage green, and wine on a madder red field. The field is infilled with stylized geometric flowers and vines worked in the same palette. The spandrels have ivory grounds and the designs are incorporated into the crenellated inner border. There are two narrow guard borders with small linked floral motifs, flanking a primary border in blue with a turtle pattern. Short natural fringe to each end. Unmarked. Blue threads visible on back.
