A vintage hand-knotted signed Persian Kashan wool area rug. This rug features a palette of indigo, sky blue, ivory, saffron, olive, and cranberry, beginning with a star shaped central medallion with ornate detailing surrounded with an abundance of arabesque floral motifs. The indigo field is framed with a main herati patterned border, along with a pair of herati patterned compound borders. The rug is signed to one end in a cartouche, and finished with overcast selvedges and a natural warp fringe. Unlabeled.
