A pair of mixed media paintings on paper titled Survivor and Sister of the Moon by Indiana artist Alys Caviness-Gober (20/21st century). These pieces depict a portrait of a woman against a crescent moon on a light blue ground and a female figure with a feather skirt rising against a dark sky. Each piece is signed by hand. One is presented under a mat and glass, and both are mounted in wood frames with labels to the versos, wired to hang.
Alys Caviness-Gober is a self-taught Noblesville, Indiana artist, writer, and photographer. Caviness-Gober is known for her abstract expressionist style landscapes, figures, and floral compositions. She also taught college level Anthropology courses. Caviness-Gober was the 2017 recipient of the Indiana Arts Commission Individual Artists Program Grant. Her work is housed in several private collections and displayed in Indian galleries such as Logan Street Sanctuary, and Love’s Hangover Boutique to name a few. Currently Caviness-Gober is a juried member of the Hamilton County Artists’ Association.

- glass could be cleaned more thoroughly; light wear to edges and corners; light wear to frame finishes.
