An original signed 1976 gouache and watercolor painting on paper by 20th century American artist Murl Rush (Ohio, 1921 – 2004), titled White Man’s Buffalo. The painting depicts a Native American on horseback approaching a small herd of Longhorn cattle grazing in a grassy field. The man stares at the cow quizzically. The painting is signed and dated in brown to the lower left, and is titled to the frame’s backing. It is double-matted in white and brown and is presented behind glass in a natural-stained wooden frame with a hanging wire attached to the verso.
