National "Overture" Sterling Silver Flatware Set

A set of sterling silver flatware by National Silver Co. of New York, NY (active 1904-1970s). This is in the Overture pattern, first introduced in 1936, which features line-accented handles. The sixty-seven piece set included four flat handle butter spreaders, a flat handle master butter knife, twelve salad forks, twelve dinner forks, twelve soup spoons, twelve teaspoons, a sugar spoon, and a tablespoon, all marked ‘National Sterling’. They are presented with twelve dinner knives with stainless blades and sterling handles. The total approximate weight, excluding dinner knives with stainless blades, is 62.680 ozt.
