Vintage Power-Loomed Karastan "Kirman" Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A power-loomed Kirman wool area rug by Karastan. This rug features a classic Persian Kerman design in a palette of cream, teal, shades of pink, sapphire, midnight blue, and aqua. It begins with a cream-colored field densely patterned with small, crisp sprays of flowers amid palmettes, lancet leaves, and vase forms. The design forgoes border edges in favor of simply surrounding the field with a riot of vase forms and bouquets over darker ground colors, including teal, midnight blue, and aqua. Selvedges are overcast. Ends finish with short mesh skirts and incidental bits of fringe. The rug is labeled on the reverse.
