A pair of restrike engravings on paper of figurative scenes. Titled The Birth-Place of the Locomotive after a painting by John Lucas (1807 – 1874) and etched by F. Holl and C. Mottram the collection also included Coming of Age in the Olden Time after a painting by W. P. Frith and engraved by F. Holl. Each work depicts a figurative scene featuring vivid colors and detailed line work. To the bottom print margin each print is titled and credited to the artist. The prints are presented unmounted and without frames.

Condition

- some wear and tears around the edges of the prints; small areas of foxing to the surface of the prints; to the verso, some scuffs and marks.
