A hand-knotted Kashan room size area rug. This hand knotted wool pile rug features a center major pendant medallion in shades of blue, red, pink and cream with blue floral lesser medallions and palmettes inside a lozenge-shaped red field. The field is surrounded by blue and cream colored spandrels, a blue major border with lighter blue and cream minor borders and a red guard border. The far ends have white cotton warp fringe. Unmarked.
