A set of four cut paper silhouettes. This set includes one silhouette depicting two women seated in wooden chairs wearing dresses sewing together, and one silhouette of a woman and girl standing together looking up at a bird in a tree. Also included is one silhouette of a woman standing against a tree feeding ducks, and one silhouette of a woman wearing a dress with a large skirt watering flowers. Each silhouette is composed of cut black paper against an off-white paper ground, and each is rendered with considerable care and detail. Each is housed in a black painted wooden frame with hanging hardware to the verso and no signatures are visible.

Condition

- wear to all four frames; discoloration to all four grounds; damage to the hanging hardware of the piece with one figure underneath a tree, one of the screws has come loose and the surrounding wood has split; tearing to all four versos.
