A watercolor and gouache painting of a northern outpost by Danish artist Poul Poulsen. This work depicts a wolf nosing around an isolated snow-scattered scene, a mountain to the background and a small grayish structure toward the right edge. A break in the clouds in the distance reveals an orange sky, giving the impression of daybreak. This piece has its under drawing visible through the thin washes of paint. This work is illegibly titled to the lower right with signature and date present above. This painting is mounted under glass in a warmly-stained wooden frame, a wire to its verso for hanging.

- wear to frame, especially lower edge and verso; light accretion throughout.
