Ancient Persian and Greek Style Decorative Vessels
Item Details
A pair of decorative vessels. This selection features a silver tone metal plate with an ancient Persian style scene embellished with copper alloy accents. The scene depicts a pair of tribute-bearers approaching a Persian king, who is seated on his throne with the winged sun god Ahura Mazda overhead. The plate has a floral border and is equipped with D-ring hardware for hanging. Also included is a miniature amphora in the style of ancient Greek Attic black figure ware. This vessel depicts Triptolemus in his winged chariot with wheat stalks in his hand.
Condition
- corrosion spot to left side and back of plate; some wear and dents to plate; light scratches and wear to amphora.
