Early 20th Century Tiffany & Co. Sterling Tea Strainer and Other Utensils
Item Details
An assortment of silver plate flatware. This includes a spoon with a pointed bowl, pointed shoulders, a narrow stem and a fiddle handle with a personalized engraving; the underside is marked, ‘I.T’. This is presented with a 19th century sterling ladle by Starr & Marcus (1862-1877), most likely made by John R. Wendt, featuring a curved handle with a simple band framing a raised foliate design with a plume tip and a personalized engraving near the terminal. The final piece in the assortment is an early 20th century Tiffany & Co. tea strainer with a black handle, reeded trim around the edges of the bowl, and a bowl with a pierced star design. The total approximate weight of two spoons, excluding the strainer with a black handle, is 2.670 ozt.
Condition
- some surface wear with faint markings, crimps and dents with minimal tarnishing; some piece have a personalized engraving.
