An antique Swedish birch slant front desk. The exterior of this early 20th century desk is made of birch and figured birch veneer both darkly stained. The figured birch veneered slant front door of the desk lowers to form the writing surface and reveals a contrasting fitted interior made of golden birch with six drawers and an open arched center. Below the desk are three hand dovetailed drawers veneered with figured birch and having two silvered brass ring pulls per drawer; the entire case upon a base with four simple French cabriole legs.
