Antique Swedish Walnut Chest Of Drawers

An antique Swedish walnut chest of drawers. This late 19th century chest of drawers has a crossbanded raised top with a convex molding projecting out from under the top; beneath the molding is an overhanging drawer supported by turned and reeded columns ending on squares above the apron with the entire case resting on two bun feet in the front and two square feet in the back. The four drawers of the chest are decorated in book matched burl walnut veneer with the top overhanging drawer sloping inward with 15 vertical incised lines cut into the drawer and the lower three drawers being crossbanded; with all of the drawers fitted with an ornate lion faced brass escutcheon and two matching pulls. Unmarked.
