A fresco painting on burlap of a still life with birds by well-listed French artist Jacques Lamy (1946-2016). This work features an elegant bowl with scrolling handles, filled with a colorful plant, and set against a beige background; blue and yellow birds are perched on the rim and handles. The work is marked with the artist’s estate stamp to the verso. No signature was found on the work. The composition remains unframed.
Jacques Lamy was born in France near the Loire Valley in 1946. He received his formal artist training at Ecole Nationale Superieur des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Lamy worked as an artist, designer and art teacher allowing him to travel to Spain, Africa, and the United States. His work is housed in instructions such as Musee D’Art Roger Quillot, France and the Jesuit Art Museum in Dallas, Texas.
