An oil painting on burlap tapestry with linen backing of a woodland scene by listed, French artist Jacques Lamy (1946-2016). This work features a forested scene full of pine trees and brush. A man hides behind a tree and peers out at a large bird flapping its wings. Signed in paint to the lower right corner. Loops to upper portion for hanging.
Jacques Lamy was born in France near the Loire Valley in 1946. He received his formal artist training at Ecole Nationale Superieur des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Lamy worked as an artist, designer, and art teacher allowing him to travel to Spain, Africa, and the United States. His work is housed in institutions such as the Musee D’Art Roger in Quillot, France and the Jesuit Art Museum in Dallas, Texas.
