A fresco painting on burlap of an still life by listed French artist Jacques Lamy (France; 1946-2016). The work depicts a Kantharous style vase overflown by dense foliage, situated within a golden-tone background. The piece is unsigned by the artist. Marked with the artist’s state stamp ‘Jaques Lamy, Dallas’ to the verso. The item remains unframed.

Jacques Lamy was born in France near the Loire Valley in 1946. He received his formal artist training at Ecole Nationale Superieur des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Lamy worked as an artist, designer and art teacher allowing him to travel to Spain, Africa, and the United States. His work is housed in instructions such as Musee D’Art Roger Quillot, France and the Jesuit Art Museum in Dallas, Texas.
