A fresco painting on burlap by Jacques Lamy (France; 1946-2016) created in 1996. The work depicts a stylized lion head with decorative dot pattern around the boarder. A gallery label is attached to the verso with the artist makers mark. Presented unmounted and without a frame.
Jacques Lamy was born in France near the Loire Valley in 1946. He received his formal artist training at Ecole Nationale Superieur des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Lamy worked as an artist, designer, and art teacher allowing him to travel to Spain, Africa, and the United States. His work is housed in institutions such as the Musee D’Art Roger in Quillot, France and the Jesuit Art Museum in Dallas, Texas.
