A fresco painting on burlap of a still-life by listed, French artist Jacques Lamy (1946-2016), created in 2000. This painting depicts a still-life of a dish of fruit and a carafe of wine sitting on a table rendered with simplistic linework and color blocking. It is signed to the lower right corner and to the verso. It is dated to the verso. This painting is presented in a wood frame covered in gold painted burlap without glass.
Jacques Lamy was born in France near the Loire Valley in 1946. He received his formal artist training at Ecole Nationale Superieur des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Lamy worked as an artist, designer, and art teacher allowing him to travel to Spain, Africa, and the United States. His work is housed in institutions such as the Musee D’Art Roger in Quillot, France and the Jesuit Art Museum in Dallas, Texas.
