Jacques Lamy Fresco Painting on Burlap Still Life

A fresco painting on burlap of a still life by listed French artist Jacques Lamy (1946-2016), dated 2000. This work features a small side table set with a bowl of fruit, a wine bottle, a wine glass, and a vase full of flowers. The table is covered with a cloth featuring a red and purple checkered pattern; leafy foliage frames the still life in the upper area of the composition. The work is signed to the lower right, and marked with the artist’s estate stamp and date to the verso. It is presented in a wood frame covered with burlap and painted gold-tone.

Jacques Lamy was born in France near the Loire Valley in 1946. He received his formal artist training at Ecole Nationale Superieur des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Lamy worked as an artist, designer and art teacher allowing him to travel to Spain, Africa, and the United States. His work is housed in instructions such as Musee D’Art Roger Quillot, France and the Jesuit Art Museum in Dallas, Texas.
