A mixed media composition on board by Jacques Lamy (France; 1946-2016). The work depicts an abstracted landscape with sweeping paint, woven fabric, and textured board. Signed in paint to the bottom left of the image. Presented in a decorative wooden frame without glass. To the verso, a gallery label is attached to the hanging wire and an additional label is adhered to the work.
Jacques Lamy was born in France near the Loire Valley in 1946. He received his formal artist training at Ecole Nationale Superieur des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Lamy worked as an artist, designer, and art teacher allowing him to travel to Spain, Africa, and the United States. His work is housed in institutions such as the Musee D’Art Roger in Quillot, France and the Jesuit Art Museum in Dallas, Texas.
Condition
- some wear and scratches to the edges of the frame; the work could benefit from a cleaning; some marks to the board; to the verso, a rip to the protective paper.
