A mixed media painting on board of cypresses by listed French artist Jacques Lamy (France; 1946-2016). The work depicts a multiple cypresses scattered throughout an irregular beige and light blue surface. The composition is painted over various fragments of plaster and pattern fabric. The piece is signed by hand in ink to the lower right. There is a pair of informational labels adhered to the verso. Presented without glass, housed in a fluted wood frame with a variegate brown finish.
Jacques Lamy was born in France near the Loire Valley in 1946. He received his formal artist training at Ecole Nationale Superieur des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Lamy worked as an artist, designer and art teacher allowing him to travel to Spain, Africa, and the United States. His work is housed in instructions such as Musee D’Art Roger Quillot, France and the Jesuit Art Museum in Dallas, Texas.
