A fresco painting on stretched burlap titled Sphinx & Shield by listed artist Jacques Lemy (French, 1946 – 2016). Signed by the artist to the lower right corner and stamped to the verso. Attached to the stretcher bar is a descriptive label from Jacques Lemy Design & Decorating. Presented without a frame.
Jacques Lamy was born in France near the Loire Valley in 1946. He received his formal artist training at Ecole Nationale Superieur des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Lamy worked as an artist, designer, and art teacher allowing him to travel to Spain, Africa, and the United States. His work is housed in institutions such as the Musee D’Art Roger in Quillot, France and the Jesuit Art Museum in Dallas, Texas.
