A fresco painting on burlap titled Black Stallion by Jacques Lamy (France; 1946-2016). The work depicts a stylized horse featuring gestural lines on a warm background. Signed to the bottom right in marker. A gallery label is also attached to the verso with the artist name and title of the work. Presented unmounted and without a frame.
Jacques Lamy was born in France near the Loire Valley in 1946. He received his formal artist training at Ecole Nationale Superieur des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Lamy worked as an artist, designer, and art teacher allowing him to travel to Spain, Africa, and the United States. His work is housed in institutions such as the Musee D’Art Roger in Quillot, France and the Jesuit Art Museum in Dallas, Texas.
