Four Antique European Baroque Style Chairs
Item Details
Four antique European baroque style chairs. These late 19th century carved architectural chairs are finished in a heavy dark brown stain or paint. The top of each chair features a curved pediment carved with an escallop above a balustrade between two finials which rests on a cornice on top of the chair back flanked on each side by Ionic capitals atop reeded balusters which extend down past the cross support for the lower seat back and chair seat to form the back legs. The square seat is wider in the front and has a carved apron between the turned and reeded tapered legs that end on an elongated blunt arrow foot. The chairs are upholstered in a striped pattern of pale yellow and green with an overall pattern of gold acanthus. Unmarked.

- various scuffs and rubs to the finish as well as chips to the wood. Upholstery is newer with the springs and webbing.
