A fresco painting on burlap of floral still life by listed French artist Jacques Lamy (1946-2016). This work features a bulbous pink vase with a protruding shoulder, filled with stylized red, yellow, and blue flowers. The floral arrangement is set against a beige background. The composition is signed by hand in black ink to the lower right. It is marked with the artist’s estate stamp to the verso. The composition remains unframed.
Jacques Lamy was born in France near the Loire Valley in 1946. He received his formal artist training at Ecole Nationale Superieur des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Lamy worked as an artist, designer and art teacher allowing him to travel to Spain, Africa, and the United States. His work is housed in instructions such as Musee D’Art Roger Quillot, France and the Jesuit Art Museum in Dallas, Texas.
